David Bowie – The Next Day (2013)

Stu’s Album of the month for April

The last couple of months has been amazing with regards the new music coming out. I struggle to remember such a plentiful amount of good music being released in such a small period. Recently we’ve had new offerings from some big names; Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Johnny Marr, Suede, Mogwai, Eels, Stereophonics, The Phoenix Foundation and Courteeners to name but a few.

Whats even more amazing is that the majority of them are really, really good albums. However, one new release has stood out from the crowd for me, and here it is.

THIS MAN IS AN ABSOLUTE GENIUS! And this is a more than worthy addition to his back catalogue.

  1. At first (and for many months later), I ignored Bowie’s latest. Mostly because I thought the album cover was an glitch on Amazon. But a small part of me also dismissed it as an aging artists last-ditch effort to be relevant. But boy, I was so wrong. This is an excellent record. There are no throwaway tracks. And it makes me want to go on a Bowie music marathon run. Nice choice, Stu.
